Question: How do I determine the color of the marker used on my vehicle?

Answer: There are 16 colors used in the vehicles using YKK markers and some of the hues are very close. You may use the images on this web site keeping in mind that colors may not appear on the screen the way they really are. The best way to get a color match is to mail a portion of the damaged or dislodged marker to us for a physical match. If you have lost the broken marker, there may still be a portion of the marker held within the white back washer located on the back side of the seat cover. (If you look at the photo on the home page, you can see a part of the damaged marker is in the center of the opening.) Another option is to E-mail or fax us with the year, make, model, trim level, 2 door or 4 door, and interior and exterior colors of your vehicle, we may be able to determine what color is correct. (Example: 2003 Honda Accord, EX, 4 doors, cloth interior is beige, exterior is white.) The auto manufacturer information is very limited (we are working on it!) but every reasonable effort will be made to determine a match. In most cases, it is simpler to order a set of four new markers in a basic color such as black, grey or beige.

Question: I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX and the markers do not have the “child in seat” logo – the marker has a plain face, can this be replaced?

Answer: Some vehicles have markers like this. These were, for the most part, manufactured before the LATCH system was initiated. The newer vehicles have the logo on the marker and you may want to up-date all four markers to the newer version because the “plain faced” ones are not available.

Question: When do I need to use the “optional white felt washers”?

Answer: These were designed to be used when the installation is on thin material or material that has been compressed. The purpose is to ensure a tight fit because you want the “logo” to always be in an up-right position. One thought is to examine the remaining markers . . . do they have the white felt washers when originally assembled? You may try to install the marker using the white felt washer as illustrated in the instructions. If you have difficulty getting the colored marker and white back washer to “snap” together during the installation process, you may want delete the use of the white felt washer. These white felt washers are included with every set but may not be needed
